APLICACIONES EN MONITORES 4K Y EL PROBLEMA DEL TEXTO PEQUEÑO. TENEMOS LA SOLUCIÓN.
Esta semana vamos a intentar ayudaros con las aplicaciones en monitores 4K. Este problema se lo están encontrando multitud de personas dedicadas al diseño. Ya sean tanto animadores digitales 3D, como creativos en edición fotográfica o arquitectos por poner un ejemplo.
Bien el problema es el siguiente:
Mucha gente dedicada al mundo del diseño están adquiriendo monitores con resolución 4k. Su intención es obtener una mejora en calidad de imagen a la hora de trabajar con trabajos a gran resolución. Resulta que muchas de estas personas disponen de licencias ya sean de Photoshop o de Autocad muy antiguas con lo que esas versiones de software no son compatibles nativamente con resoluciones 4K. El resultado de abrir un software de hace años en un monitor 4K es que tanto la interface como el texto del programa se ve tan extremadamente pequeño que es inviable trabajar (ni si quiera cambiando el tamaño del texto de Windows)
Nos ha costado bastante el encontrar esta solución pero en Emibin queremos compartirla con todos vosotros ya que puede servir de mucha ayuda.
Lo primero de todo abriremos el Editor de Registro de Windows. Para ello pulsaremos la combinación de teclas Windows Button + R y escribiremos «REGEDIT«. Después pulsamos sobre OK. En la ventana que se va a abrir pulsaremos arriba sobre «Archivo» y le daremos a «Exportar«. Es importante siempre que vayamos a tocar el registro de Windows que hagamos una copia de seguridad. Así siempre que metamos la pata podremos volver atrás en cualquier momento.
Una vez que tengamos la copia procederemos de la siguiente manera:
- Navegaremos hasta la siguiente subcarpeta del registro:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > SideBySide
- Sobre «SideBySide» pulsaremos el botón derecho del ratón y pulsaremos sobre NUEVO > Valor de DWORD (32 bit)
- Escribimos PreferExternalManifest y pulsamos ENTER
- Hacemos Doble Clic sobre PreferExternalManifest y en la casilla donde pone «Información del valor» ponemos 1 y seleccionamos la opción Decimal.
- Pulsamos OK y salimos del Registro
Una vez terminada esta parte viene la segunda:
Tenéis que buscar la carpeta de instalación del programa en el que queréis que el contenido se escale a la pantalla. En este caso vamos a usar como ejemplo Adobe Premiere Pro.
Una vez estemos dentro de la carpeta nos fijaremos en el nombre del archivo .exe el cual es el encargado de ejecutar el programa. En este caso el archivo se llama Adobe Premiere Pro.exe
Una vez hayamos determinado cual es el archivo que ejecuta el programa descargáis este archivo con el código que hará crecer al contenido: manifest.txt
Por último tenéis que copiar este archivo en la carpeta donde se encuentra el archivo .exe y lo renombráis de tal manera que si el archivo que abre Premiere es Adobe Premiere Pro.exe al archivo manifest.txt le vais a poner de nombre Adobe Premiere Pro.exe.manifest

Una vez realizado esto ya podréis abrir el programa normalmente para comprobar como todo el interface ha crecido y se ha ajustado al tamaño del monitor. Tendremos un ajuste perfecto en aplicaciones en monitores 4k
Ya sabemos que la calidad del contenido escalado no es 100% nítido pero es lo más que podremos conseguir a menos que compremos una licencia más actual del software que usemos ya que hoy en día si traen soporte para monitores 4K.

Buenos días kly herrera, perdón por haber tardado tanto en contestar. Para poder ayudarte necesitamos que nos pongas un enlace o nos envíes un pantallazo de la carpeta de instalación del programa a escalar en el que se vea como queda el nombre del ejecutable con la extensión .manifest y otro pantallazo de la entrada del registro HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > SideBySide para comprobar que los pasos se han seguido correctamente.
Comentarte que esto lo hemos probado con bastantes herramientas de diseño y puede no funcionar en todos los casos.

Guardo el valor 1 en decimal y acepto en el archivo PreferExternalManifest. Sin embargo, si vuelvo a entrar veo que me lo cambia automáticamente a hexadecimal.

Hola disculpa por la tardanza, solo afecta a las aplicaciones en las que se haya creado el archivo .manifest en su carpeta de instalación.

Funciona de maravilla. Sin embargo me surge un imprevisto: al ejecutar el Media Encoder desde dentro del programa Premiere CS6, el «manifest» no actúa. Pero si arranco Encoder directamente desde su ubicación, entonces sí. ¿Lo puedo corregir de alguna manera?

Yo lo he hecho en photoshop, dirígete a la ubicación del archivo, y en caso de usar windows 10, vas a vista–> haces click en extensiones de nombre de archivo. En teoría debería aparecerte el .exe

Explico mi caso por si puede ayudar a alguien más.
Yo tengo una impresora multifunción de HP y al abrir el asistente que te permite seleccionar si vas a imprimir o escanear, éste salia muy pequeño.
Una vez abierto el programa, abrí también el Administrador de tareas para encontrar exactamente cual era el .exe que se estaba ejecutando ya que no era el que yo creía en un principio.
Pues bien, una vez localizado el ejecutable, copié el fichero manifest.txt a la ubicación de éste y renombré el manifest.txt con el mismo nombre que el ejecutable.
Por ejemplo:
Ejecutable -> c:\ruta del ejecutable\mshta.exe
Manifest -> c:\ruta del ejecutable\mshta.exe.manifest
Y ahora se ve bien.
